Medical oxygen and devices

Braathens allows travelers to bring medical oxygen and other portable electronic medical devices if needed. Please note that only certain types of oxygen can be transported, while others may not be suitable for air travel.

To bring medical oxygen onboard, you must provide information about its dimensions, contents, and type of device.

Requirements: 

  • No medical certificate is needed.
  • Maximum total weight: 5 kg.
    Not Allowed:
  • Liquid oxygen is prohibited.

Important: Braathens does not provide oxygen except in emergencies.

 

You can bring essential devices such as portable oxygen concentrators (POC) and CPAP machines for sleep apnea in the cabin at no extra charge, in addition to your carry-on baggage allowance. Note that this applies only to medical equipment, not additional luggage.

Battery Guidelines:

  • Devices that are not battery-powered or have batteries below 100 Wh or 2 grams of lithium do not require approval.
  • Devices with batteries exceeding these limits require approval. Contact your tour operator when booking or at least 5 business days before your trip.

 Additional Information:

  • There is no power supply (220V) available onboard.
