Traveling with a cast

Plaster Splints

It is permitted to fly with a plaster splint.

Full Circular Cast

For a full circular cast that completely covers the arm or leg, the following conditions must be met:

• The cast must be at least 24 hours old.
• A written medical clearance to travel must be presented at check-in.
• You must be able to sit in your seat with your leg bent and secured by the seatbelt.

We always recommend having the cast split open before departure. This recommendation is made to protect passengers with full circular casts from uncomfortable swelling that may occur during the flight.
