Traffic disruptions

Safety is Our Top Priority

We always prioritize safety. In the event of a fault indication or other unforeseen circumstances, a flight may be delayed, redirected, or canceled. Braathens complies with EU consumer regulations (EC 261/2004), which govern airlines' responsibilities towards passengers during disruptions. For detailed information on passengers’ rights, you can read the full EU regulation here.

EU Regulations on Passenger Rights

EU regulations specify passengers' rights in the event of flight delays. These rules apply when:

  • You are departing from an airport within the EU.
  • You are flying from an airport outside the EU to one within the EU on an airline registered in the EU, Iceland, Norway, or Switzerland.

Note: No compensation is provided if the disruption is caused by extraordinary circumstances. Claims for delays under two hours are not accepted.

Delays Over Two Hours

If your flight is delayed by more than two hours or canceled, you may be entitled to compensation for additional costs.
